What is this product?
Our meat lambs are Charolais Lleyn cross with Grey Faced Dartmoor. They are slower growing than pure commercial crosses, but the purpose of the Charolias / Lleyn mother is to grow well on grass without needing additional feed.
These lambs have been born our land, raised on their mothers milk until mid summer when the lush spring grass starts to lose its nutrition. We then wean them onto a hay meadow after a last cut of hay that is left late for the wildflowers to set seed. The lambs then grow on all winter with plenty of space and grass.
Our lambs are condition scored to ensure they are growing and developing a thin layer of fat that will keep the meat juicy and tender whilst cooking.
